Trail Alert System

Understanding the Trail Alert System (TAS)

What is it:

  • Small, electronic, numerical device used to indicate number of following sleds.

Why:

  • This unit reduces the amount of time the left hand is off steering device when on-coming sleds are the closest.

How:

  • TAS displays a very bright number, 3” high, which indicates the number of sleds behind you in your group.  By indicating this number for you, TAS helps you, the driver, stay in control, by leaving your left hand free for steering, signaling turns, stops, and other safety signals..
  • TAS works day or night.
  • After power-down, TAS will remember last number set.
  • TAS can be used with a glove or mitt.
  • TAS can be set to “Blink” mode for hazardous conditions (similar to 4-ways on a truck or car).
  • There are no holes to drill.

Staying alert when riding is the best way to avoid accidents.  Knowing the number of on-coming sleds is helpful.

Functions

  • TAS will be powered up whenever the sled is started
  • TAS will remember the last displayed number when powered up
  • TAS can be turned off by pushing the button and held for 4 seconds
  • Once turned off (with the sled running) a single push to the button will re-activate TAS
  • Once powered-up, TAS can be moved through the numbers, 0-9, by simply pushing the button repeatedly until the desired number is displayed
  • Blink Mode – once a number is chosen, holding the button in for 2 seconds will cause that number to blink.

recommended.  Direct viewing of any bright
         light may damage your eyes.
