THE COLORED LIGHT DEBATE CONTINUES!

Making Sure TAS was Legal and Able to be Patented

In the development of TAS, Willy P’s worked with an attorney for the purpose of determining whether or not numbers on a snowmobile were in conflict with New York State law.  The state responded that the numbers were fine, but that the color of the lights could not be yellow, but must to white.  This was not the expected response!

Willy P’s and Amber Lights

Willy P’s does not agree with New York State’s position.  We believe that using colored lights for safety is a good thing.  We also believe it is the responsibility of all to follow the laws of the areas in which we ride.

TAS is available in amber – the common color for “caution” – targeted for states that allow forward-facing amber lights.  For sleds running in New York State we offer the very bright, frosted white lights that reduce glare.

Willy P’s is currently working with various state agencies to have the DMV’s ruling reviewed and reconsidered.
