A brief history and background of Willy P’s:

PictureBill first started riding sleds in 1968 when his dad bought him for Christmas a lime-green Polaris sled.  The sled had been painted lime-green so the previous owner could find it after falling off.  This gentleman was known to patronize the local bars and painted fire trucks for a living – thus the lime-green paint.

In his senior year in high school, Bill worked for the local Arctic Cat dealer/swimming pool dealer, so he could buy a new 1973 Panther.  Bill and his father rode together for many years in the rugged wilds of Pennsylvania.

Bill took a few years off from riding to raise two great kids.  Upon returning to sledding with his wife, Christine, they found that sledding had become much more organized and popular than when he was a kid.  The tradition of raising one’s left hand to indicate the number of following sleds had become the accepted practice.  Bill and Christine both found this to be a very painful and unsteady part of the ride, due to shoulder injuries and physical limitations.

This caused TAS to be conceived.  Bill has always been a bit of an inventor.
